Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced two roster changes for Team QMJHL and Team OHL in the 2009 SUBWAY® Super Series.
Marco Scandella of the Val d’Or Foreurs will not participate for Team QMJHL in game two of the series scheduled for Wednesday November 18, and Taylor Beck of the Guelph Storm has been added to the Team OHL roster for game three of the series taking place in Barrie on Thursday November 19, 2009.
Scandella, a 19-year-old defenceman from Montreal, QC, was named an assistant captain for both QMJHL games of the 2009 SUBWAY® Super Series, but will sit out the game on Wednesday as a precaution after missing the game Monday night in Drummondville due to sudden illness.
Beck, an 18-year-old from Niagara Falls, ON, has 32 points in 20 games played in his third OHL season with the Storm. He was selected in the third round, 70th overall by the Nashville Predators in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
Beck replaces Storm teammate Michael Latta who is unable to participate due to injury.
Team QMJHL defeated Team Russia in game one of the series 3-1 Monday night in Drummondville, QC, with Gabriel Bourque of the Baie-Comeau Drakkar named QMJHL Player of the Game.
